God has blessed me with a supportive husband and a large family of 8 daughters and 4 sons. Having trusted Christ as my Savior on Resurrection Sunday 2012 and becoming a member of Cleveland Baptist Church, I have served faithfully in a variety of ministries, as well as teaching the Sunday evening preschool class for 3 and 4 year old children.
Professionally, I have been working with young children since 1995 in both a public school setting as well as with childcare centers. In 2007, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cuyahoga Community College with an associate's degree and received a certificate of administrative leadership in early childhood education. I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Religious Education through Heritage Baptist Institute and then will be completing my Bachelor of Science in Education.
Deuteronomy 6:7 “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

I am so excited to begin working in the K3 classroom this coming school year. I am especially grateful to be working at the school in which I spent thirteen years learning. My time at Heritage was filled with teachers who loved and poured in to me, and I hope to be able to do the same with my students. I have had several years working with children, including two years as a nanny. Working with kids is something I truly enjoy and am very passionate about. I am so excited to see how the Lord continues to use Heritage Christian School in the lives of these students.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

I’ve been working with children my whole life; I was basically born into it as a pastor’s daughter! I love children, and it fills my heart with joy to watch them grow and learn. I am married to my best friend and blessed to be the mother of five beautiful daughters (all of which attend Heritage Christian School). I enjoy reading, baking, shopping, and spending time with my family. I believe that children are our future, and I look forward to the upcoming school year.
Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."

I am so excited to be working in the K4 class at Heritage this year. I have lived in Ohio all of my life, graduated from Heritage Christian School in 2017, and attend Cleveland Baptist Church. I have been working with children in different ministries since I was old enough, and I feel that working with kids is one of my strong suits. I can not wait to see how the Lord uses us to grow these little ones.
Hebrews 12:1 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

I felt called to teach when I was a senior at Heritage Christian School! I knew from working in ministries that I had a passion for children. It was as an adult that I went back to school to finish my education. My favorite part of teaching is when you see the light bulb click on in their head! I love the expression on the student’s face and celebrating small accomplishments with them! My husband and I have one daughter who is a student at HCS and two older daughters that are students at PCC. My favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and making my home cozy.
I Timothy 2:20-21 “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work."

I'm the wife of the athletic director, Doug Hoffman, and a mother of four. I love gardening, reading, and being outdoors. My favorite part of teaching is the opportunity I have each day to impact young, moldable lives. I love watching the growth, academically and spiritually, in a child. It’s exciting to see the change and excitement as they grasp a new concept and develop a love of learning.
Proverbs 16:21 “…and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.”
Isaiah 40: 26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”

I have been blessed to work in two different hospitals as a surgical nurse for many years. I've also been given opportunities to take missions trips and use nursing to help missionaries reach people for Christ!
I love teaching Sunday school, and I've had the privilege of teaching first grade for the past two years. I grew up in a Christian school that used the abeka curriculum, and I love teaching it now!
It's wonderful to make learning exciting and see kids grow spiritually and academically. I love making connections with the kids and getting to know what they are interested in! I'm grateful for the opportunity to teach at HCS, and I'm thankful for the testimony of CBC reaching people with the gospel.

God placed the desire to teach in my heart when I was in elementary school. I met my husband (who attended HCS K-12) while I was studying to complete my teaching degree at CSU. I had a few classes left to complete my degree when we got married. Then Lord blessed us with a honeymoon baby and two more children after that. I stayed home with them for several years. I was able to go back to school and complete my student teaching at HCS during the spring of 2022. I received my bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Liberty University. I love looking back at what the Lord has done in my life, and I'm very excited for the opportunity to teach at HCS this year.

I have felt the call to be a teacher since I was in elementary school. After graduating from college in 2005, the first grade position opened, and I was able to return to Heritage to teach. A few years ago, I moved to second grade. I love when my students love to read and work hard to learn new concepts. I love to travel and spend time with my family, especially my niece and five nephews.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

I am excited to teach third grade because of the excitement and desire to learn exhibited by the students.
I was born in St. Augustine, Florida. My parents adopted me when I was 8 months old, and I moved to Pensacola, Florida. Because my dad was in the military, I lived in Michigan, Maine, and Indiana until we moved to the Azores Islands of Portugal to be missionaries when I was 12. In 2004, the Lord moved us to Okinawa, Japan. I am the baby of the family, and I have an older brother who died in a car accident when he was 24.
I was homeschooled for most of my life, but I graduated from Hyles Baptist Academy while I was living in Okinawa, Japan. Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher. Instead of playing house, we played school, and I was the teacher. Being someone who helps nurture children to become what God wants them to be is a rewarding ministry.

I have wanted to teach since I was very small, but my third grade teacher solidified that in my mind as I watched her impart her love of learning on her students. Since that year, I knew what God was calling me to do.
My family began homeschooling when I was in fifth grade. After graduating, I began pursuing my elementary education degree from West Coast Baptist college. I met my husband, Steven, and we married shortly after graduation.
After teaching just two years, God had blessed our family with two children. I felt it was best to take my teaching home and focus on my growing family. Since that time, I have been home with my now five children.
I cannot wait to begin this new step of our family's adventure as I step back into the classroom.

I graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and continued on to get my Master of Science in Elementary Education. I live with a grumpy cat, angelic dog, sweet husband, and a darling daughter. We enjoy a sweet home life that is truly a blessing from the Lord.
I first sensed a desire to be a teacher when I was in the fifth grade, and I read a story about Helen Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan. I enjoy making up review games, sharing my love of poetry, and discovering my students' hidden talents. In my spare time I like to read and paint. I don't love exercising, but I do like to play tennis and soccer, and lately I am trying to get better at pickleball. Most of all, I LOVE board games.

I am originally from a small town in Northern California. After graduating from Pensacola Christian College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, I got married and followed my husband back to his home state of Ohio. I have grown to love Ohio, and I have met such amazing people along the way. I have been working with children since I can remember! I always enjoyed volunteering to be a camp counselor, nursery worker, or Sunday school teacher.
I am very excited to start my first year of teaching at HCS. I have no doubt the Lord has led me here, and I know He is going to do great things this school year. I am most excited to see the academic and spiritual growth of each student. Seeing a child's eyes light up after grasping a new piece of knowledge is priceless.
