HCS has been a tremendous addition to the training up of our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Previously, we had homeschooled for years, and it was a smooth transition for our children to step right in with the school’s curriculum. Our children have been challenged in a very good way to excel in their academics, and the boys had a great time in soccer and basketball. Our children have made some great friends.
The entire staff of HCS demonstrate their love and care for our children each day, and you can really see that they want God’s best for our children. We are so thankful for the office staff, teachers/helpers, coaches, maintenance, and cafeteria workers. They all make a great team.
Proverbs 22:6 instructs parents to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. In our desire to follow the Scriptures, the Lord led us to Heritage Christian School several years ago. We were not only amazed to find a KJV-based Christian school teaching a Biblical worldview, but also at such an affordable price!
Our three children are now entering their third year at Heritage, and we have been encouraged by their spiritual and educational growth. Although we are members of Graham Road Baptist Church in Stow, Ohio, we are pleased to also enjoy the fellowship of the Cleveland Baptist Church family through Heritage Christian School. Our family’s experience with Heritage Christian School started with the Kindergarten open house during the spring of 2021. I was in disbelief as soon as I stepped into the building having known little to nothing about the school. In the midst of global hysteria, here were rooms full of bright smiling children and friendly teachers. The Kindergarten rooms were decorated to show off the children’s recent projects, but all I could focus on was how genuinely happy the children were throughout the halls and in the classrooms. There was no fear or negativity, only a positive environment. I knew that we found a traditional school with a focus on Christian values my children could grow into.
As our oldest child is about to start second grade in the fall, I can say it was the best decision we ever made choosing HCS. The teachers are comparable to none, far surpassing my own fond memories of my favorite teachers. Our oldest daughter has thrived in school, established many great friendships, found new interests, and is encouraged and supported by all. She started Kindergarten knowing the alphabet and went into first grade as a solid reader. She recently took the IOWA standardized test and tested two grade levels ahead. We also have a daughter starting Kindergarten this year and have found it a lot easier this time knowing what a wonderful experience she will have.
While there is certainly no place like home, we genuinely believe HCS is the best place for our children to receive an excellent Christian-based education. They are safe and well cared for not only by their classroom teachers, but also by the extracurricular teachers, the cafeteria staff, and certainly the administrators. I consider myself a highly involved parent, and every question or concern I have had over the last two years has been not only addressed but also met with the same amount of enthusiasm I share for our children’s best interests. In these uncertain times, I am given daily reassurance that my children are safe and are receiving the best education available. At its core, I know HCS will continue to stand the test of time and provide a wholesome, positive, and enriching Christian education for all children.
